About IRCRA

Our History

The International Rock Climbing Research Association (IRCRA) is a worldwide association that promotes research which fills gaps in the multidisciplinary field of climbing.

It was founded in 2011 during the 1st International Rock Climbing Research Congress, which was held at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and is a non-governmental international association with a non-profit-making purpose of international interest.

The IRCRA has been officially registered as an association following the French Association Law 1901 in October, 2024 and has its seat at the University of Rouen Normandy, CETAPS 36A building, boulevard Siegfried, 76130 Mont Saint Aignan, France.
